Save the Sea Life Soup

I love being plant-based!  It's fun for me to try new recipes that are low in fat, free of oils, and all plant-based.
I made another of Isa Chandra Moskowitz's recipes.

This is her New England Glam Chowder soup that I made last night.  I love the name!  This soup got it's creaminess from soaked and blended cashews and is loaded with veggies and some seaweed that lends the seafood flavor.  And, it's loaded with health-protecting mushrooms.
I believe that eating plant-based eliminates angst from my life that I was carrying as a result of eating animals who have suffered.  Have you given that idea any thought?

Divine Oneness

I'm just about finished reading Mutant Message Down Under

and am taking a pause because I don't want it to end. It really opens up your mind and heart, further and wider to re-think your relationships to yourself, others and nature.  Today, choose to be open to expanding yourself, AND accepting your imperfections as perfect, as well as those of others.

Don't Let Reality Get in the Way

Reality is right before your eyes.  And it's pushing your buttons, frustrating you and raising your stress level.  But what if what appears to be "real" is just getting in the way of you feeling good?  Could you feel better if you didn't "see" what was before you.

You can choose to see a situation as an obstacle and let it get to you.  Or, you can fill yourself up with thoughts that feel good and align with positive energy, despite the obstacles in your life.  Play with this and see what happens.

Halloween Transformation

We are all accustomed to donning costumes for Halloween.  In fact, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays!  It's pure fun and silliness and filled with sweetness.  There are few obligations and little stress associated with Halloween.
What if you use Halloween as a jump-start to a new you?  What costume would you virtually put on to represent the YOU you know you can be?

Would you be swimming in cash and the Captain of your own yacht?  Are you on a book signing tour with fans out the door?  Are you walking down the aisle with your fun, caring, gorgeous mate?

Think about who you want BE for Halloween.  Step into being that person now. No costume required.  Imagination will help get you there.

Benevolent Thanksgiving

I don't preach about plant based eating, but I certainly encourage it to those that are open to transitioning from omnivore to herbivore.

Are you open to having a Benevolent Thanksgiving?  Since choosing to live an all-plant-based lifestyle, I've felt a great sense of peace and calm around me.  I partially attribute this to not ingesting the angst and fear of slaughtered farm animals.
Do you want to experiment with a benevolent Thanksgiving? Not only will a turkey thank you - but YOU will feel a difference in your body and energy that you will love.

Things are Not as They Appear

Reminder of  an Ink-Jet Explosion!

Recently, our old inkjet printer decide to explode ink all over our new pine filing cabinet.  This brought an unexpected turn of events to the day.
There was lots of black gooey clean up to be tackled, and then the research to learn about removing the stains.  Ultimately, it was a baking-soda and water scrub that removed a large portion of the ink.
The lesson occurred when I tried to select our alternate printer, the one we use for printing photos, as our go-to printer.  I could not get the computer to recognize the printer, nor could my family members. I was baffled how unplugging and discarding one printer, could cause the other to malfunction.  The longer I stayed in this place, the more frustrated I became.  I called Canon to get some help, but they were closed on the weekend.
Then, my son suggested that maybe when we upgraded the wi-fi, we never set up the Canon printer on the new wi-fi.  I thought that was a great idea, but was doubtful because we had updated the wi-fi some time ago.
However, as I muddled my way through the Canon printer functions, I selected the option to pair with the computers via wi-fi, and the printer connected and is working fine!
The moral of this (sorry) long story is, things do are not as they appear to be.  What looks like reality, the problem, the struggle, may simply require a new look from a different point of view. Since the ink exploded on my new furniture, I have been reminded many times to shift my point of view, away from what IS to what may be possible..  I have a lovely stain to remind me.

Are you a Conscious Parent?

Start now, and put your awareness where your mouth is. Have you said something you regret today? Have you imagined a worst-case scenario?  It's time to bring your awareness to your thoughts and feelings and choose to become conscious.  You can do it!  You will notice that if you act from the awareness of how you want to feel, that your relationships will flourish and your day will unfold with a sense of ease.
