How to Slow Down Summer

If you're like me, you love summertime!  

Even if your work schedule has not changed from winter-time, somehow summer offers many more freedoms and opportunities for fun!  

Here's how to make them last:  Ground yourself in the present moment.  When you fully experience NOW, time no longer flies!  How do you experience now?  In the summer, one of the best ways is to take off your shoes, plant your feet on the ground or floor, and get your physical body into the moment.   

Your mind and spirit will follow suit  In the end, you will have slowed down summer and enjoyed it so much more thoroughly!

Keep Your Energy Clean

How do you stay in an emotional state that feels good when you are in the presence of someone who is vibrationally low on the emotional scale?

One method to employ is to assert your boundaries.  Your boundary is an invisible line that you draw around yourself that others cannot cross.  Sometimes, to implement your boundary you must physically remove yourself from the presence of that person.  Other times, you are able to diffuse the energy of the other by being squarely grounded in your own strong positive emotion.

Staying Calm Despite the Distractions

What helps you stay calm and centered?  Do you rely upon that resource when you are faced with distractions or discomfort?

You choose what you put your attention to in the moment.  Today, I have barking dogs that are daring to take me off center.  I have shifted my attitude to one of gratitude for them, because now I am back in my own power and can choose where my attention goes.  Does gratitude re-center you?  How about using a touch-stone?  Challenge yourself to get back to center today.

Why Eat Plant Based?

There are many reasons why I choose to eat a plant based diet.  About 3 years ago, I chose to try Dr. John McDougall's starch-based diet.  I bought his books and downloaded Mary's recipes, and frankly, loved it!

I had already been eating a flexitarian diet - which I would define as mostly plants and mostly organic.  The shift to eating starch-based-vegan was easy for me. 

My intention in my work as a Healthy Lifestyle Coach is to support my clients in achieving less-stress and more-success.  Eating plant based foods are quite simply, easier to digest than animal foods.  That alone creates less-stress in your body and a light fresh feeling that contributes to your success!  Try it and let me know how you feel.
